ABOUT US...
BIRD CALL CONSULTANTS are dedicated to the
mission of insuring accuracy and integrity in the film and television industries
with regard to the use of bird calls as background sound.
So, WHO CARES? 93 million birdwatchers in the United States, that's who! That's
thirty percent of the population representing a 30 billion dollar industry. And
they all go to movies and watch television.
They care when impossible and distracting bird songs or calls are used as
capricious background sound. Even David Letterman has recently focused on
television sports coverage using "phony" northern thrush songs in the background
of an early spring golf tournament― wood thrushes are usually not found in the
middle of a crowded golf course! For more examples of bird call blunders,
